Through the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and State of Texas Access Reform (STAR) Medicaid programs, Dell Children’s Health Plan offers quality healthcare and extra benefits for families just like yours, with local doctors and clinics close to home.
Dell Children’s Health Plan is a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) committed to getting you the right care close to home. Your Dell Children’s Health Plan benefits are your STAR or CHIP benefits, plus the extra benefits you get for being our member.

We serve CHIP and STAR Medicaid-eligible individuals, including newborns up to age 20, and pregnant or new moms who live in these Central Texas counties:
- Bastrop
- Burnet
- Caldwell
- Fayette
- Hays
- Lee
- Travis
- Williamson
- Age 18 or younger. Children up to age 20 can qualify for Medicaid in some cases
- A Texas resident
- A U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. The parent’s immigration status does not matter
CHIP and STAR Medicaid coverage
Along with the standard coverage you get with any CHIP and STAR Medicaid health plan, you’ll also love our extra benefits that help you and your family live healthier, more rewarding lives.
Value-added services* for Dell Children’s Health Plan members
- $20 reward each year for getting Texas Health Steps or well-child checkups on time.
- Up to $100 for glasses or contacts every 2 years, including Medicaid benefit.
- $40 voucher to spend at the Dell Children’s Medical Center’s Simply Safety Centers for Members age 3 to 18 who get an annual checkup within 90 days of joining Dell Children’s Health Plan.
- One sport or school physical each year.
- Up to $50 per semester for Boys & Girls Club membership.
- Membership at Hays County YMCA locations for members through age 12.
- Planet Fitness membership for members 15 years and older.
- Overnight camps for members 9 to 18 years old.
- $25 reward per semester for a GPA of 3.0 or higher, an attendance record of 90% or higher or attending an IEP or 504 meeting for members in grades 9 through 12.

Special Delivery program for pregnant moms and new moms*
We’ve got pregnant and new moms covered with Dell Children’s Health Plan. Our pregnancy program has many benefits to help support you throughout your pregnancy and as a new mom.

- Help getting a ride to pregnancy-related doctor visits, pregnancy or birthing classes, WIC offices, food banks, grocery stores, child day care and other locations.
- A convertible car seat for going to 6 prenatal visits while a member of Dell Children’s Health Plan.
- Up to $500 each year for dental checkups, x-rays, cleanings, fillings and extractions each year for pregnant CHIP Perinate members age 19 and older and pregnant STAR members age 21 and older.
- A special self-care book with tips on caring for yourself and your baby while you are pregnant.
